112th Carnival of Personal Finance: Best Week Ever!
by Jason Dean
The Frugal Law Student has posted the 112th Carnival of Personal Finance, and it is a riot. Mimicking the popular VH1 show, The Best Week Ever, Brett McKay has assembled an awesome collection of personal-finance articles along with hilarious, show-inspired commentary, like:
Spent all week chastising yourself for paying $1.50 for bottled tap water? (That’s right. We’re talking about you Aquafina drinkers.) Here’s what you missed money burners and earth polluters. One of these bloggers is having the best week ever!
- The Amateurist Financial Journey has an incredibly thorough article detailing the various aspects of mutual funds, index funds, the differences between the two, etc.
- The Brits have a lot to say about finance, but often times us Yanks don’t understand what they’re saying. Have no fear, chap — just read Plonkee’s British money slang dictionary.
- How Frugal Should You Be When Hosting Guests is another fun and practical one from Family Finance Blog.
- And One Frugal Girl questions whether or not being in debt is an integrity problem; very thought provoking.
But my favorite article was from the Millionaire Mommy Next Door. Her story is really inspiring and demonstrates the true value of financial independence:
A bona fide self-made millionaire mommy shares her recipe for success, happiness, and wealth.
In How I Became a Millionaire While Working In My Pajamas she explains how she got where she is today and shows that you can do it too!
But wait — who had the Best Week Ever?
These posts were all great submissions. But one blog topped them all by presenting an awesomely creative photo personal finance confessions essay. That’s why Saving Advice is having the best week ever! It’s like Post Secret for personal finance bloggers!
