Carnival Carnival Carnival Extravaganza

by JS

I went carnival wild this week and submitted to three of them.

#1 Carnival of Money

My favs from the Carnival of Money hosted at Free Money Finance:

  1. My Best and Worst Financial Decisions – My best financial decision was marrying a wonderful woman who has managed to stick with me for 19 years and counting. My worst financial decision was reliving my childhood (I’ll explain).
  2. Quality of Life is More Important Than Dollars – My wife and I took a $20,000 a year reduction in income. To put it simply – our quality of life was much more important to us than the money was.

#2 Carnival of Everything Finance

The stories I enjoyed most from the over 80 posts at the Carnival of Everything Finance at, where else, Everything Finance.

  1. Two Financial Questions You SHOULD Ask Your Friends posted at Watson Inc, saying, “Strife over money has severed many good relationships. When it comes to discussing finances, avoidance is understandably our medicine of choice, especially when friends are involved. However, perhaps avoidance is not the best strategy”
  2. What Did My Parents Teach Me About Money  What did my parents teach me? It really wasn’t much. I remember them constantly saying that we didn’t have enough. They wouldn’t even let me play “little league,” or several other activities I wanted to participate in, because we didn’t have the money.

#3 Carnival of Personal Finance

This week’s edition was a real treat. The entire batch of entries, at least 100 of them, are presented in rhyme al a Dr. Zeuss. Don’t miss it at Mighty Bargain Hunter.

I won’t even pick any favorites because you have to go and read it yourself! Here’s a sample:

It’s Monday today, and here we all are!
You’ve no doubt arrived to this blog from afar,
By hook or by crook or by llama or car.

But on to the posts! There’s no time to spare!
As most of you folks are keenly aware
This Carnival’s huge! It’s gigantic! Supremo!
A strawberry float with a ton of whip cream-o!
All Personal Finance! You’ll just want to scream-o!

Happy reading.

    Thanks for the mention. :)

For some strange reason, I submitted to a lot of Carnivals this week too…
